Same Day Crowns with CAD CAM Technology

When a tooth becomes weak, and a large filling can no longer maintain its structure, a crown may be necessary to help provide strength to the tooth to prevent it from breaking.
Using our state-of-the-art Planmeca CAD/CAM Mill, we are able to make crowns in our office, in one appointment!
The process:
First, Dr. Culler will "prep" your tooth by smoothing out the problematic area. This involves shaving down 1-2 mm of the tooth, eliminating any areas of decay or broken down fillings - while preserving healthy tooth structure. He will then take a digital impression of your prepped tooth. The next step includes Dr. Culler's talented eye where he then designs your restoration using the most up-to-date software. Our computerized mill then uses these specifications to cut the crown out of solid block material with extreme precision, (think of a reverse 3-D printer). This permanent crown is now ready to be seated.
The end result is a quicker, more reliable resolution. No more dealing with the hassle of temporary crowns, impression molding material and coming in for several appointments.
The appointment takes anywhere from 1-2.5 hours depending on your specialized treatment plan.
We can also use this technology to create veneers, abutments, onlays and bridges.
